YANCEY COUNTY, NC - CEMETERIES - Thomas (Old John Thomas) Cemetery ----¤¤¤¤---- Located off Double Island Road, turn onto Roses Branch and go about two mile, turn onto River Haven Drive, go a short distance and turn right on a farm road, go to the old house and then to the right thru a pasture, follow this road to a ridge beyond the barn. Condition: Grown up in tall grass and weeds but a crew was there today to clean it us. SURNAMES: DAVIS, HALL, HOILMAN, HUNSUCKER, THOMAS 1. Aaron Thomas, 1776 - 1883 2. Elizabeth Hunsucker Thomas -1782- 1866 Aprx. (She actually died in 1880 - W/o # 1) 3. Thomas Thomas, Sept. 1819 - July 24, 1912 Footstone: Thomas Thomas Fifer Co K NC Inf - Confederate States Army 1829 - 1919 4. Rachel Thomas, 1832 - 1-28-1919 (W/o Thomas Thomas) (D/o Henry & Sallie Wilson Silvers)(Death cert. states dob 1-1-1829 - 90 years, 28 days) 5. John Thomas, 1796 - 5-21-1894, 95 years, 6. (Lucinda Wilson Thomas, W/o # 5) grave marked with fieldstone. (Also 3 or 4 of their children are buried here in unmarked graves.) 7. (Analine Thomas, D/o Tommy Thomas, married John Hall, she buried here in unmarked grave.) 8. Brown Hoilman, 3-6-1924 - 4-8-1948 (S/o Fred & Ela Grindstaff Hoilman- killed in a mine cave-in) 9. Edna Hall, 3-3-1929 - ,W/o Brown Hoilman. (She was the daughter of Dave Hall, Dave was the son of John Hall & Analine Thomas) 10. Infant daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Robert Hoilman 3-14-1955 11. (William Davis, born 1822 in Burke County- grave unmarked) 12.
