David Slagle having been elected Constable for Cane Creek Company gave bond and qualified. Ordered that John S. Brown be issued a license to retail Spirituous Liquors by the small measure in the Town of Burnsville for one year. Ordered that Jacob Typton and Allen Bryant be appointed Administrators on the estate of Aaron Honeycutt. Order for a jury to review and lay off a road from William Wilsons (formerly Rowlands old place) on the waters of Crabtree to the upper end of James Rays plantation. Tuesday, April 11, 1838 Present and Presiding: William Dixon, T. C. Proffitt and Charles Byrd. Ordered that Moses Peterson and Samuel Byrd be appointed to lay off or set apart a years provisions for the widow of Aaron Honeycutt deceased and that Charles Byrd attend as Magistrate. Ordered, that Thomas Robertson oversee the road from the Toe River to the new meeting house at or near where it intersects the Deyton Road and the following hands work under said overseer. William Hutchins, Edward Woody, John and Milton Silver, Thos Wilson, William O. Wilson, David Mitchell and George Robertson. Wednesday, April 12, 1838 Present & Presiding: Malcombe McCurry, Charles Byrd and William Dixon Ordered that the road on the West Fork of Little Ivy overseed by John Keith be altered and remain as now opened by Joel B. Jervis which has been received by said overseer and a portion of his hands as testified by Eliphalet Jervis. Ordered that Calvin Edney and William Angel be appointed Patrols for Caney River Company. Thursday, April 13, 1838 Present and Presiding: William Dixon, Malcolm McCurry and Charles Byrd Ordered that Tilmon Blaylock oversee the road from Hopsons shop leading up Bever Creek to the top of the dividing ridge and the following hands work under said overseer, Thomas Wilson, Christopher Wrathbone, William Blalock, A. Elkins, Elijah Harman and David Blalock. Ordered that Daniel English oversee the road from the dividing ridge to where said road intersects the Yellow Mountain Road and the following hands work under said overseer: Lewis Vance, John Jackson, Seth -----, A.
