Miss Stella Hall Feb 28, 1893 Dear Sister and Brother, I take grate pleasure in writing to you this Eve. to tell you that we are all well at present and hope you are all well at present. I think you have all forgoten us I have not heared from any of you in about 2 years Wee never get any letters from any of you I wood write more if I could ever heare from any of you but you never try to write to me the reason I dont write to you it hant because I dont want to I cant see how to write Jane wrote to you both about 3 months agoe and never got any Ans I loud you had forgot you had any sisters and brothers living in North Carolina I hope you will ans this letter by return mail. Mother has bin sick and verry bad but is better She is not well to say Well. All of our folks is well fare as I know Well wee have had some verry bad wether this winter the snowfell here an Saturday night in Jan and stay on untill the next Saturday and it was 18 in deep and it was below Zeroe all week and nearly all the time in the house and ice was 3 in thick across the river and they was grates piles of ice in 14 Feb had not bin destroyed laying in the river Well I had foregot to tell you I had bin sick this winter. I was sick in the time of that big snow. I came verry neare dieing I had the New maney fever I weighted 1.75 lbs before I got sick and now I guess I wieg nearly the same. I came verry neare loosing the use of my left arm. Well, Daughter Polley has bin sick too She has bin sick about 7 weeks. bedfast. and is improving now a little she has got samething like the Consumption. I cant tell what kind of a disese she has got. Well Aunt Sucky Peterson is sick has bin now for 2 years and for one yeare she hant bin out of the house is worse now I have wrote a grat deale about sickness so I don't supose I will write any more about sickness So I will haft to close for this time for it is getting late I hope you both will write soone and a long letter don't doe like you have bin write and tell me how many children you have got and their names girls & boys so I will close by saying Write some and a long letter From your Kid Sister Elizabeth Peterson This is to Mac Mac. Well I will tell you a little a bout Sidney he is out squirl hunting and the Rumetisms hurts him very bad one day in time in the snow he went out and killed 6 gray squirls and 5 rabbits and has lost the sight of his left-eye. I think I done pretty well fore and Old man 68 years old Sidny Peterson (Elizabeth Byrd Peterson is the daughter of Charles Avery Byrd and Jane Hampton.
