An Eighteen Year Old Youth to Hang
(Special to The Messenger)
Raleigh, NC December 8 - The supreme court decided that Riley Pate, and
18-year-old boy of Yancey county must suffer the death penalty for the murder of
a 15-year-old boy, his friend. They were on a frolic and Pate, who was drunk,
shot him. The court expresses much sympathy in the case.
