ELIZABETH D. BACON

BURNSVILLE - Elizabeth Dunster (Betty) Bacon, 80, of South Toe 
River Road, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003 in Spruce Pine Community 
Hospital. A native of Dannemora, NY, she was the daughter of the 
late Ballington Booth and Elsie Schneider Dunster, and wife of 
the late Frederick Neil Bacon. She was also preceded in death by 
a son, Theodore Edward Bacon. She was an active member of First 
Presbyterian Church in Burnsville, where she had served as both 
a deacon and an elder.
Survivors include one son, Richard Norton Bacon of Hamlet; three 
grandsons, Jonathan Michael Bacon of Greensboro, and Brett Norman 
Bacon and Alex Richard Bacon, both of Gilroy, CA; two granddaughters, 
Judith Elizabeth Bacon Grant of Tigard, OR, and Cynthia Anne Bacon 
Garrison of Tigard. She is also survived by two step-grandchildren 
Bryan Kearse of Raleigh and Melody Kearse of Rock Hill, SC.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church 
in Burnsville. Rev. Maggie Lauterer officiated. Burial followed in 
the Academy Street Cemetery. The family received family and friends 
from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home in Burnsville.
