SAVANNAH THOMAS DUNCAN

BURNSVILLE - Savannahh Thomas Duncan, 91, of the Arbuckle community, 
died Monday, Oct. 28, 2002. She was the daughter of the late Alpheus 
and Maggie Silver Thomas, and wife of the late Cleveland Duncan. She 
was also preceded in death by her brothers, Casson, Burdette, Monroe, 
Clayton, Robah and Walter Thomas. She was a member of Young's Chapel 
Missionary Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many 
years.
Survivors include her son, David Duncan of the home; three nieces; 
and three nephews.
Funeral services were held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Grindstaff 
Memorial Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Revs. Lawrence 
Glenn and Howard Buchanan officiated. Burial was in Bear Creek 
Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 p.m. until the service 
hour at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Gideons
