JOAN M. HUSKINS 

SPRUCE PINE - Joan M. Huskins, 71, died Monday, June 12, 2006 in an Asheville 
hospital. A native of Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late Gus and 
Pauline Howell Young, and wife of the late Charles Huskins. She was also 
preceded in death by two brothers, Hugh and James Young. A homemaker, she was 
a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Greg Huskins; his wife, Rhonda; and a grandson, 
Michael Bartlett, all of Myrtle Beach. 

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Liberty Hill Cemetery. 
Rev. David Philbeck officiated. The family received friends from 10 a.m. until 
the service hour at the church. Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine was in charge 
of arrangements.
