TRULA MAY JONES HARRELL
MARS HILL – Trula May Jones Harrell, 90, of Mars Hill and Burnsville, 
died Tuesday, June 25, 2002 at Western North Carolina Baptist Home in 
Asheville. She was the daughter of the late John W. and Vashti Tipton 
Jones, and wife of the late Rev. Fred Harrell. She was also preceded in 
death by a brother, Ward Jones. A graduate of Tipton Hill High School, 
she was a homemaker and member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Lorene Harrison of Erwin, TN; a son, Donald 
Harrell of Mars Hill; a sister, Marie Gage of Knoxville, TN; a brother, 
Boyd Jones of Johnson City, TN; four grandchildren; one great granddaughter; 
and four nieces.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Robbie Capps Memorial 
Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service in Mars Hill. Rev. Sue Fitzgerald and 
Dr. Harley Jolley officiated. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Yancey 
County. The family received friends one hour prior to the service.
