YANCEY COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Howard Dee Hensley, 23 Feb 2005

GREEN MOUNTAIN - Howard Dee Hensley, 72, of Long Branch Road, died Wednesday,
Feb. 23, 2005 at his home. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the
late Rufus and Edgel Wilson Hensley. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean
War and a member of North Bend Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Hopson Hensley of the home; three sons,
Rev. Tommy Hensley and Billy Hensley, both of Green Mountain, and Rev. Marvin
D. Hensley of Buladean; one sister, Maude Boone of Burnsville; and seven
grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m; Saturday in the chapel of
Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Revs. Norman Loveless, Blaine Whitson and
Junior Peterson officiated. Burial was in Peterson Hill Cemetery. The family
received friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
