YANCEY COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Clifton Joseph Honeycutt, 13 May 2003 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Clifton J. Honeycutt Mr. Clifton Joseph Honeycutt, 81, 300 Marbleton Road, Unicoi, died Tuesday, May 13, 2003 in the Erwin Health Care Center. Mr. Honeycutt was a native of Yancey County, N.C., having lived in Unicoi County since 1961. He was a son of the late Reverend Joe and Mrs. Ruth Mitchell Honeycutt. Mr. Honeycutt was a retired farmer. He was of the Freewill Baptist faith. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Silvers; two brothers, Carson Honeycutt and Herbert Honeycutt, and two sisters, Clara Bryant and Dorothy Honeycutt. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Naomi Bryant Honeycutt; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth D. and Gail Honeycutt, Unicoi; two daughters and sons-in-law, Doris Jean and Burl Smith, and Mary R. and Richard Hill, all of Unicoi; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Lloyd and Judy Honeycutt, Howard Honeycutt, Roger and Alma Honeycutt, all of Unicoi; Donald and Shelia Honeycutt, and Fred and Shirley Honeycutt, all of Erwin; one sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Clarence Pate, Unicoi; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Unicoi Funeral Home, 4428 Unicoi Drive, Unicoi, is in charge of arrangements. HONEYCUTT -- Funeral services for Mr. Clifton Joseph Honeycutt, 81, 300 Marbleton Road, Unicoi, who died Tuesday, May 13, 2003, will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2003 from the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Paul Ault and Reverend Travis Garland will officiate. Music will be provided by Inez Chandler. Graveside services and interment will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2003 in Peterson Cemetery, Yancey County, N.C. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and are requested to assemble at the funeral home by 7:30 p.m. Saturday and at the cemetery by 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
