BARBARA GREENE LITTLE 

STATESVILLE - Barbara Greene Little, 72, of Meadowview Drive, died Tuesday, 
Jan. 29, 2008 at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. A native of Yancey County, 
she was the daughter of the late J.D. and Minnie Bailey Greene. After her 
parents died, she was raised by the late Clayton and Mattie Sparks. She was 
also preceded in death by a brother, J.D. Greene II; and two sisters, Pat 
Hollar and Margaret McSwain. She worked as a nurse, with 27 years in the 
office of Dr. B.E. Dunlap in Statesville.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin Eugene Little of the home; a son, Mark 
Little of Statesville; and a brother, Frank Greene of Asheville. 

A graveside service and burial were held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Gus Young 
Cemetery, just outside Spruce Pine. Dr. Jeff Porter of First Baptist Church of 
Statesville officiated. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church 
of Statesville, 815 Davie Avenue, Statesville, NC 28677. Webb Funeral Home in 
Spruce Pine assisted the family.
