MARIE DAVIS NANNEY

BURNSVILLE - Marie Davis Nanney, 81, of the Crabtree community, died 
Monday, Feb. 10, 2003 at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville. She 
was the daughter of the late Ed and Larrie McMahan Davis, and wife of 
the late James Edward Nanney. She was also preceded in death by two 
infant sons, Paul and Terry nanney, and three sisters, Dollie Smith, 
Sally Sparks and Mae Davis. She was a member of Estatoe Church of God.
Survivors include her sons, Ray Nanney of Troy, Ralph Nanney of Hickory,
Darrell and Tarrell Nanney of Burnsville, and Harold and Ferrell Nanney 
of Spruce Pine; daughters, Opal Ballew of Burnsville, Dana Miller and 
Marolyn Nanney of Spruce Pine, and Carolyn Nanney of Bakersville; three 
sisters, Millie Renfro and Carrie Frye of Burnsville, and Georgia Presnell 
of Marion; a brother, Leonard Davis of Rutherfordton; 18 grandchildren; 
and 19 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Estatoe Church of God. 
Revs. Pervie Stines and Scott Jenkins officiated. Burial was in Liberty 
Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. 
Wednesday in the chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home in Burnsville.
