Riddle Funeral This Afternoon

Dillingham Minister Succumbs at the Age of 77 Years
N.C. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 1928 N.C. Wednesday Sept. 19, 1928

The Rev. B.B. Riddle of Dillingham, N.C, died Monday night at 7 o'clock
at the age of 77.


The deceased was born at Pensacola, N.C. moving to Dillingham seven years age. 
He was a member of the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church of Dillingham, and was 
ordained a minister of the Baptist church more than 45 years ago. He spent 
most of his ministerial life in Yancey county preaching to country churches 
for which he received very little renumeration for his services. He was a 
pastor of churches in Yancey county where he did notable Christian work.

Funeral service will be held at Pensacola in Yancey county this afternoon. The 
funeral will be conducted by several ministers of the Baptist church, who knew 
of his work.

Surviving are his widow, 10 children, two brothers and one sister. The
children included: Landon, Stanley, David, Russell, Roy and Mrs. Burlison all 
of Asheville, L.M., Joe, Britton and Mrs. Dillingham, of Dillingham
