YANCEY COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Mable MyraAnn Whitson, 28 Dec 2003

BURNSVILLE - Mable MyraAnn Whitson, 79, of Highway 19-W, died 
Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. She 
was the daughter of the late Isaac and Bertha Edwards Hylemon, 
and wife of the late Ernest J. Whitson. She was also preceded in 
death by a daughter, Janice D. Smith; and an infant son, Ernest 
Dean Whitson. She was a member of Elk Shoal Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Peterson of Burnsville; two 
sons, David Whitson of Clyde, and Monty Whitson of Morganton; a 
sister, Opha Morrow of Burnsville; and five grandchildren. 
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of 
Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home in Burnsville. Rev. Frank Murphy 
officiated. Burial was in Edwards Cemetery. The family received 
friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
