W. M. Banks Will

In the name of God amen.
This February the fifth day in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred 
& Eighty Seven. 
I W. M. Banks of the State of North Carolina the County of Yancey, Gentleman, 
being through the Blessings of God in a sound state of mind and memory but 
calling to mind the frail tenure of life & that it is appointed to all men 
once to die do make & ordain this my last will & testament that is to say 
principally & first of all Recommend my soul unto the hands of Almighty God 
who gave it me & the disposition of my body I leave to the entire discretion 
of my friends. With respect to my worldly Estate I give bequeath and dispose 
of it in the manner and to the parties following.
First I give and bequeath to my three sisters, towit, HARRIETT ROBINSON wife 
of ELIFAS ROBINSON, CORNELIA MANEY wife of JOHN MANEY & MARY HARRIS wife of
COLLETT HARRIS all my land all of which I now hold deeds & possess in the 
County of Yancey,  ----- ----- tenements & personal property with the 
exception of due & just debts all of which I want settled from my personal 
property & I do hereby utterly disallow revoke & dissannuall all & every
other former testaments wills legacies bequeaths and executors by me in any 
way before made willed & Bequeathed, ratifying & confirming this and no other 
to be my last will & testament.
Provided further that my body shall die & be assigned to the final destiny 
without heir or heirs of my body or without issue or Issues of the body. 
Furthermore that the within land must & shall be equally divided between the 
three above named sisters, their heirs & assigns.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the day & year above 
written.
