Last Will and Testament of EZEKIEL HAMPTON

State of North Carolina
Yancey County

May the Twelfth one thousand Eight hundred & forty Eight
In the Name of God Amen
I EZEKIEL HAMPTON of the above named County & State being of sound and perfect 
mind and memory do make and subscribe this my last will and testament as 
follows (towit) being at peace & real friendship with all mankind I commit my 
body to the Grave & My soul to God who gave it.
2nd I want all my lawful & just debts Freely & honestly paid.
3rd I desire that my Son ALFRED HAMPTON have all my personal property on the 
following condition that he the said ALFRED HAMPTON does take or cause to be 
taken good care of my loving wife during her lifetime.
Lastly I desire that JOHN R. PATTERSON be my Executor to this my last will and 
testament in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my name to this day and 
date above written.
