I SAMUEL MCKINEY of the County of Yancey and State of North Carolina being sick and weak in body but of perfect sound mind and memory Thanks be to God for his mercies, calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament, that is to say first of all I give and bequeath my soul unto the Hands of Almighty God who gave it and my Body to the Earth from whence it was taken to be buried in Christian Burial at the discretion of my Executor Nothing doubting but I shall receive the same at the general resurrection and as touching such worldly Estate as it has pleased God to bless me with I give bequeath and devise of in the following manner and form, that is to say I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife ANNA MCKINNY full privileges of all my lands as long as she lives and also the five oldest mares and also for her to have her choice out of all my cattle and to take three cows and calves and all the hogs and all the sheep and also the balance of my Estate both real and personal as long as she lives and at her decease, I want all of the lands equally divided between my two children, one half to my well beloved son REUBIN and the other half to my beloved Daughter MARTHA ELIZABETH. And I appoint my well beloved brother-in-law GREEN B. YOUNG my Executor of this my Last Will and Testament and I do hereby disannual all previous , Wills and Testaments and do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this the 10th day of July in the Year of Our Lord 1851.
