PEEK State of North Carolina Yancey County I WM. A. PEEK the county and state aforesaid being of sound mind in Feable health and viewing the time of my final Dissolution Drawing nigh I therefore will and bequeath my sole to God who gave it and body to a ------ grave in the Earth and I therefore will and bequeath to my beloved wife ANNA PEEK my home place where I now live also all my cattle, Horses, Hogs and sheep are to remain for her During her natural life but my desire that nothing may be wasted or destroyed. I also give to her my household and kitchen furniture and farming tools also my standing crops of all wheat & oats on hand and all the Debt that also due me are hers after the payment of all my just debts and also the Land that I bought in company of JOHN & JAMES RAMSEY & G. G. COATS after it is paid for if there remains anything it is to belong to her to enable her to raise and school the children and now at the death of my wife my will and desire is that my property may be divided as to make them equal. Now if my Daughter POLLY M. PEEK does not get enough from her Grandfather to make her Equal with my children at home she is to have sufficient from the rest of my children to make her so and to have the conditions of my Last Will and Testament to go more fully in forse I therefore put and appoint my friend and brother JOHN W. PEEK as the Executor of my last will & Testament in order that titles may be made to the portion of the land known as the Speculation and also that my debts may be collected in Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 13th of August 1848.
