RAY, being of sound mind and memory but knowing the uncertainty of human life and being desirous that the property with which God has blessed me shall go to certain persons after my death do make publish and declare this to be my last will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say, Item 1 I will and desire that after my death my body shall be buried in such style as becomes my condition in life and that all the funeral expenses together with all my just debts if I shall leave any be paid by my Executors hereinafter named. Item 2 I will and bequeath all my personal property of whatsoever kind or character and all my interest of Real Estate in the farm on Cane River which is $1140.00 paid by me Purchase Money the farm where my daughter, CORA PETERSON now lives and also my farm in Ramseytown, NC Lying between J. B. Byrds farms to my beloved daughter CORA PETERSON for the term of her natural life and at her death to be equally divided between her children ROSA PETERSON, (two names unreadable, from 1900 census, THOMAS PETERSON and SAMUEL PETERSON) and any other children which may be born upon the body of the said CORA PETERSON. Item 3 I do hereby make constitute and appoint my trusty friend and brother JAMES F. BYRD as my Executor of this my last will and Testament.
