Wilson (December 1806 - November 1897). He was the son of Edward Wilson and Mary Gilbert. He was married to Mary Piercy. Their children were Louisa Ann, Dorothy Hattie, Mary Caroline, Celia Jane, Dorcas Melissa, Sarah Catherine, John Gilbert, Elbert Edward, Frances Lucinda, James H., and Henry Greenlee Wilson. Transcribed from the original files by Marshall L. Styles, marshallstyles@yahoo.com. December 21 1909: "State of North Carolina, County of Yancey. To James B. Hensley, Clerk of the Superior Court: I, J.G. Wilson, Executor of the estate of James Wilson, deceased, beg to file the followingas my final report. "Receipts: Amount which came into my hands from all sources as per inventory filed on page 233 of "Record of Accounts," less one note on W.M. Jemison, which is worthless, uncollectable and uncollected and being $7.00, $1,134.78. "Disbursements: M.C. Byrd and wife S.R. Byrd, $142.93; Dorcas M. Reynolds, $142.93; B.H. & Celia Cox, $96.42; S.W. Scott, $71.46; J.B. & J.E. Proffitt, $3.73 [of Bald Creek, NC]; S.G. Byrd, $142.93; D.H. Young, $67.93; W.B. Ray, guardian of Eliza Ray, $171.42; M.D. & J.T. Wilson, $3.73 [of Bald Creek, NC]; Applied to my own use, my distributive share in my father's estate, $142.93; Tombstones, $72.00; Attorney's fees, $30.00; Total $1,072.41. "I further certify that I have paid to certain of the heirs more than the amounts receipted above and have not the receipt at hand, so when paying them the balance due to each I have taken and heretofore filed their receipts in full for their distributive share in my testate's estate. I have charged nothing for a large amount of valuable time nor for taxes on the estate and on the South Toe River lands which remain undivided at the date of this report. The foregoing report would show a balance in my hands of $56.37, but as a fact the statement above made that I have paid more to some of the heirs more than the receipt shows, still it shows to be in full from each of the heirs to my father's estate, and this fact explains the difference in receipts and disbursements. "On the 9th day of March 1870 I gave to my father James Wilson a bond payable in the sum of $1,750.00 and a portion of same, to wit: $150.00 was paid to him during his lifetime. I herewith file receipts in full from his heirs at law for their distributive amount in said bond, to wit: "September 3 1885, Eliza Ray, $200.00; May 24 1909, Dorcas M. Reynolds, $200.00; November 26 1895, S.G. Byrd, $200.00; September 3 1885, D.H. Young, $200.00; June 13 1889, S.K. Byrd, $200.00; August 26 1895, Mittie O'Bryan [O'Brien, formerly Mittie Scott, wife of S.W. Scott, of Elizabethtown, TN], $100.00; September 3 1885, Celia Cox and B.W. Cox, $200.00 [of Briggsville, NC]; September 5 1885, Thomas V. Singletary, $100.00; My own share in said amount, $200.00; The amount paid to my father, $150.00; Total $1,750.00. "I beg to file the foregoing as my full and final report and ask to be discharged as executor. {Signed} J.G. Wilson, Executor of James Wilson, Deceased. Sworn to and subscribed... this the 21st day of December 1909... Upon the filing of the foregoing report properly verified and receipts exhibited and filed, it is ordered and adjudged that J.G. Wilson, Executor of the last will and testament of James Wilson, deceased, be and he is hereby discharged from further dutirs in the matter. This the 21st day of December 1909" The estate file includes the signed receipts noted above.
