This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Sandra Allen Fender fender@hci.net ==================================================================== Last Will of James Wilson, March 1894 Yancey County Record of Wills Volume # 2, page 96 Microfilm # 107.80001 State of North Carolina Yancey County I, JAMES WILSON of the aforesaid county and State being of sound mind but considering the uncertainty of my Earthly existence do make and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say: First My Executor hereinafter named shall give my body a decent burial suitable to the wish of my friends and relations and pay all funeral expenses together with all my just debts out of the first money which may come into his hands belonging to my estate. Second I give and bequeath unto my daughters LOUISA RAY, HASEY YOUNG, CELIA JANE COX, DORCUS REYNOLDS, SALLIE KATE BYRD and my sons J. G. WILSON and my grandson THOMAS V. SINGLETARY and my grand daughter MITHE? O'BRINE to be equally divided between them all my estate whatever it may consist at the time of my death and more particularly described as follows to wit: one hundred acres of land lying and being in Yancey County, North Carolina bounded as follows towit: Begin on a blackgum on a ridge the corner of said tract and runs North with said line Sixty S. 4 poles to a large chestnut oak thence South 45 East down a ridge one hundred & twenty poles to a bunch of poplar sprouts at Whitstines old corner thence East with his old line 20 poles to a white oak and old corner thence West with or near G. B. SILVERS line Seventy Four poles to a stake thence South forty poles to a chestnut oak thence South Seventy degrees West one hundred & Twenty Five poles to a stake on the ---- ---- ----- thence East with said line Eighty poles to the beginning containing one hundred acres be the same more or less. I also give and bequeath unto my beloved daughters, LOUISA RAY, HASEY YOUNG, CELIA JANE COX, DORCUS REYNOLDS, SALLIE KATE BYRD and my beloved son J. G. WILSON also my grandson THOS. V. SINGLETARY and my granddaughter MITHE? O'BRINE to be equally divided between them $900.00 Nine Hundred Dollars which I now have on deposit in the first National Bank of Asheville NC. Also two mules which I now own, four head of cattle, four head of hogs, together with all my farm utensils and household furniture and all debts that may be due me at the time of my death. I hereby constitute and appoint my trusty friend J. G. WILSON my lawful Executor to all intents and purposes to execute this my last will and testament according to the true interest and meaning of the same, every part and clause thereof, hereby revoking and declaring utterly void all other wills and testaments by me heretofore made in witness whereof I the said JAMES WILSON do hereunto set my hand and seal this the -- day of March 1894.
