RALPH J. MCCANNA, FORMER CHICAGO JOURNALIST, DIES


Detroit, Mich., Sept. 3 -- Ralph McCanna, 36, member of the news staff of
Detroit Free Press, died here today of double pneumonia after a brief illness. 
He had work on many newspapers in many cities including the Chicago Tribune and
the New York World.  During the war saw service in France as a first lieutenant.
 He was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and his body will be taken to
McCanna, N.D. for burial.
