Mrs. Anna Thum Passes In N.D.

Word of the passing of Mrs. Anna Thum, 78 of Gackle, North Dakota was received here last night.

Funeral services were held in the Lindsay Funeral Home at Page, North Dakota and burial at Gackle, in the family plot beside her late husband, Mr. John Thum. Death occurred on May 1 at Mercy Hospital in Valley City, North Dakota.

Larry Allen McMurtie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McMurtrie of 715 1/2 S. Cherokee Lane, Lodi, is a surviving great grandson.

The Thums were long-time residents of Gackle until the death of Mr. Thum.

Mrs. Thum was preceded in death, besides her husband, by two children, a daughter, Mrs. Gust Berreth, and a son, Henry.

She is also survived by two daughters and two sons. They are Mrs. Louise Schultz of Rock Springs, Wyo., and Mrs. Dorset of McMurtrie, Merced, Calif.; Alfred Thum, Page, N.D., and John Thum of Wessington Springs, S.D.

Seventeen grandchildren survive, three great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. William Ulmer of Menno, S. Dak.
