Tina Julia Braaten was born September 29, 1886 at Belmont, Trail, North Dakota 
to parents Jens Knudsen Braaten (born abt 1844 Norway) and Bridget Smette. 

Found Julia in the 1895 census living at Hartland, Freeborn, MN. 
Found in the 1900 census at Bath, Freeborn, MN: Oluf Marke 26, Heline Marke 20, 
Hlmer Marke 9/12, Julia Brasten 11, Oscar Brasten 9. (says Heline and Julia are 
sisters).

Tina married Oscar Martinus Anderson on August 5, 1906 at the Bloomfield 
Lutheran Church, Upham, McHenry, North Dakota. 

The couple had 4 daughters all born at Upham: 
Evelynn Bernice (born March 3, 1907, married Victor Hagan April 8, 1929 Towner, 
North Dakota, died September 16, 1995 Willison, Williams, N.Dakota); 

Rose Virginia (born June 8, 1909, married Clifford Wesley Becker January 30, 
1932 Towner, N Dakota, died October 28, 2002 Saratoga Springs, Saratoga, New 
York); 

Frances Delores (born January 9, 1913, married Francis Urquhart Smith October 
26, 1935 Grand Forks, N Dakota, died March 22, 2001 Valley City, Barnes, N 
Dakota) and 

Florence Jeannette (born January 4, 1916, died January 10, 1922 Upham, McHenry, 
North Dakota).

Family found in the 1910 census living at Meadow, McHenry, North Dakota: Oscar 
M Anderson 28, Tena Anderson 23, Evelyn Anderson 3, Rose Anderson 10/12. 
 
Found in the 1915, 1925, 1930 censuses at Upham, McHenry, North Dakota: 
1915: Tina J Anderson age 28. 
1925: Tina Anderson age 38. 
1930: Oscar Anderson 48, Tena Anderson 43, Rose Anderson 20, Francis Anderson 
17. 

Tina died February 28, 1964 at Upham, McHenry, North Dakota and is buried at 
the Bloomfield Cemetery there. 

Additional Comments:
Censuses transcribed as found, spelling errors not corrected.

Tina's spouse, Oscar Martinus Anderson born September 28, 1881 Grafton, Walsh, 
North Dakota to Carl F. Anderson and Bertha A Syse, the second of their ten 
children. Oscar Anderson died May 27, 1956 at Upham, McHenry, North Dakota.
