Karl Baumann, McIntosh County, North Dakota

While not one of the older pioneers, Karl Baumann came to Ashley in 1892. In
1893 he married Barbara Hoefert, and to them were born 14 children all of whom
are living. They are Karl, Oscar, Rudolph, Hilda Glaesman, William, Lydia
Roeszler, Emil, August, Louise Stube, Ida Neu, Emma Johnstone, Otto, Ella
Baumann and Mary Nill. Mr. Baumann proved to be an unusually successful farmer
and accumulated considerable property. He died in March, 1937.
