Gottlieb Bietz—G. A. Bietz, McIntosh County, North Dakota Two of the most interesting stories related in the Jubilee Book are those of Gottlieb Bietz and his son G. A. Bietz which are well worth reading. The father was a successful farmer in the Beaver Creek district, but the son has lived in Ashley for the last 40 years and has been almost constantly a public official, serving as County Judge, Clerk of Court, County Treasurer and County Auditor of McIntosh County. He was born June 26, 1878. In 1901, was joined in marriage to Christina Layer, and then 8 children were born, namely, Albert, Emil, Maggie Thurn, Gottlieb, Ruth Schaeffer, Alvin, Lenora and Raymond. Mr. and Mrs. Bietz live in Ashley.
