Jacob Breitling, McIntosh County, North Dakota Jacob Breitling held a prominent place in Ashley for many years. I recall him as a kindly and pleasing personality. In the early days he was a county postmaster, having the post office in his own home. Later, at Ashley he spent ten years as County Judge and Treasurer. They had 8 children, viz: Hanna, Lydia, Amelia, Theodore, Walter, Herbert, Frieda and William. He passed away November 1938, his wife having preceded him December 4, 1921.
