Fred Dobler, McIntosh County, North Dakota Another sterling pioneer was Fred Dobler who came into McIntosh County in 1886, settling east of Ashley. After farming for years and raising a large family he retired to Ashley where he died July 22, 1937, leaving his widow, Anna Dobler, and the following children: Mathilda Rattei, Lehr; Otto, Linton, Emelia Blessing, Ashley, John, Martha Nies, Ben, Bertha, Lydia Walz of Ashley and Gottfried, Fullerton.
