Gottlieb Doerr, McIntosh County, North Dakota Mr. Doerr was born in Kassel and his wife in Friedental, South Russia and came to McIntosh County in 1889. They passed through the usual pioneer hardships in the vicinity of Lehr and were one of the substantial families in that locality. They had five children, Christena, Jacob, August, Eva and John. Jacob Doerr served as County Judge for 9 years. Son Jacob had 7 sons: August, States Attorney of Logan County, living at Napoleon; Edward, Superintendent of Schools at Ashley; Albert, druggist at Napoleon; John at home; Henry, barber at Ashley; Walter, operator of a gas and oil business in Ashley; and Willie, employed at Bismarck.
