Hazen  Star

                    AGED FARMER OF STANTON DISTRICT PASSES

   Mr. Joseph David, living four miles northwest of Stanton, was called to the
 great beyond last Friday, February 20, 1925, following an illnes of three      
weeks at the age of 87 years.
 
   While he had naturally been more or less feeble resulting from old age 
Neverless, he had been enjoying fairly good health up to the time he was taken 
sick. 

   Since the death of his wife, he had been making his home with his daughter, 
Mrs. Wm. Colgrove. He was a pleasant old gentleman, and well liked by all who 
knew him.

   The deceased was born in Germany in 1838, and came across the Atlantic in 
1897, settling in Stark Co., this state, and later coming to Mercer Co.
   He was married in 1868 and from this union 10 children were born, four of 
whom are still living. They ae Mrs. Wm. Colgrove, Stanton,N.D., Mrs. Frank 
Hesche, Lowell,Mi., Mrs. Herman Schottschneider, Alberta, Can., and Mr. Frank 
David in Ohio.

   The funeral service was held in Hazen Sunday. Rev Fr. Olbeding wa in charge. 
The remains were laid to rest in the Hazen cemetery.
