Found in the 1915 & 1920 censuses living at Sidonia, Mountrail, North Dakota: 1915: Earl W Johnson, age 1. 1920: Ole Johnson 41, Maria Johnson 30, Helmer Johnson 12, Hazel Johnson 10, Walter Johnson 8, Earl Johnson 5, Adolph Johnson 2 yrs 8 mos, Florence Johnson 2 months. Earl got sick on October 30th, 1922 with croup and tonsillitis. His family says he "shook" to death. He died on November 5th, 1922, only 8 years old. The family had a private funeral outdoors because everyone was sick and contagious. It was very cold and the men buried him but do not know where he was buried, if it was at a family site or at an established cemetery. Eventually, his parents and siblings left North Dakota and moved east to Worth County, Iowa where they are buried at Kensett, Worth, Iowa. Earl's grandparents, Mr & Mrs Hans Anderson are buried at Our Saviour's Lutheran, Ward, North Dakota.
