BRASSEUR was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Xavire Brasseur of Thone, N. Dak. He entered the service at Lakota on March 28, 1918 and was sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa, for his first training. Private Brasseur remained there until May 1, 1918 when his orders came to go overseas. In France he received a very intensive training and took his place in the fighting line in July. He remained in action until in September when he was wounded. He died of wounds on September 30, 1918. Brasseur was a young man of sterling qualities, a true friend, and an excellent workman. He was a barber by trade and had been in the employ of A. I. Cole of Petersburg nearly a year and a half when he joined the colors.
