He was born in Rinsaker, Norway on February 3, 1895. Private Tande entered the service on October 3, 1917. We regret to state that we were unable to secure the names of the camps in which he received his training. He arrived in France in May 1918 and was placed in Co. G, 128th Infantry. He was killed in action by machine gun fire at Chateau Thierry, on August 3, 1918. Private Tande came to America with his parents on September 21, 1909 and settled at Aneta. He completed the grades and attended the Aneta High School before entering the service.
