Funeral services were held last Wednesday for Joseph B. Roller, 65, who died in
his farm home in Ellendale township on March 23. The services were held at 10
a.m. in St. Agatha Catholic church at Hope, with Rev. Joseph Hylden officiating.

   Mr. Roller was born in Russia, November 28, 1884 and came to the United
States with his parents who homesteaded near Dickinson in 1901. He married Mary
Kubishta here in 1908 and lived here until 1941 when they moved to Mayville.

   Surviving are his wife, nine sons, Anton and Adolph, Hope; Louis and Ludwig,
Mayville; Jacob, Dickinson; Joe, Nick, Theodore and Robert, at home; four
daughters, Mrs. Mike Heiser, Hope; Mrs. Adam Armbrust, Enderlin; Mrs. John
Warner of Glendive Mont.; Mrs. Chester Haagenson of Arlington, Texas; three
brothers, Adam of New England, N.D., and Alex and Philip of Dickinson; two
sisters, Mrs. Louis Splichal of South Heart, N.D., and Mrs. Joe Binstock of
Dickinson, and 24 grandchildren. Two children preceded him in death.
