DICKSON, JOSEPH

An Illinois trapper on the Missouri and Yellowstone where he had arrived in the
summer of 1804. He was met by Clark August 11th, 1806, on his return trip. At
the five villages on the Knife river he and his companion persuaded Colter to
leave Lewis and Clark and join them.
