Family research as of October 2012.
Emma Emelia Elthon was born October 5, 1879 at Nerstrand, Rice, Minnesota to 
Kari Clemetson and Hans Elthon.  

She can be found living in the 1895 and 1900 censuses at Wheeling, Rice, 
Minnesota.  
1900: Hans Elthon 60, Carrie 52, Hannah 24, Tilda 22, Emma 20, Julia 18, 
Albert 17, Edward 14, Oliver 12 and Bernard 10.

Emma attended and graduated from St Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.  
There she met Leonard Oscar Torblaa and the two were married on June 26, 1907 
at Nerstrand, Rice, Minnesota.  

They first lived at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa for a very short while and moved 
north to Grafton, Walsh, North Dakota where they can be found in the 1910 
through 1940 censuses:
1910: Lionard O Thorblan 29, Emma Thorblan 29, Ethel Thorblan 1. 
1920: Leonard Torblas 39, Emma Torblas 39, Ethel Torblas 11, Orlando Torblas 
7, Marian Torblas 3 yrs 8 mos. 
1925: Emma Toblaa 44.
1930: Leonard Torblaa 49, Emma Torblaa 49, Ethel Torblaa 21, Orlando Torblaa 
17, Marian Torblaa 13. 
1940: Lennord Torblaa 59, Emma Torblaa 59, Orlando Torblaa 27, Marion Torblaa 
23. 

Leonard and Emma had three children: 
Ethel Leonora (born May 8, 1908 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa, married Herbert 
Jenning Brekke May 1935, died August 19, 2010 at Grafton, N.Dakota).

Orlando Hans (born April 20, 1912 Grafton, N Dakota, married Evelyn Pearl 
Porter October 1949, died November 13, 2006 Grafton, N Dakota).

and
Marian Constance Torblaa (born August 13, 1916 Grafton, Walsh, N Dakota, 
married Lawrence Gerhard Lee October 1940, Grafton, ND).

Emma Torblaa died November 27, 1973 at Grafton, Walsh, North Dakota and is 
buried at the Grafton Lutheran Cemetery there.
