Adolph Emil Hylden was born May 11, 1887 at Walsh, North Dakota to Mikkel 
Hylden and Brita Larsdatter Torblaa, the fourth of their seven children.  



Found in the 1900 census living at Vernon, Walsh, North Dakota: Michael Hylden 
52, Brenda Hylden 46, Ole Hylden 19, Lars Hylden 17, Hannah Hylden 15, Adolph E 
Hylden 13, Anna L Hylden 10, Hans B Hylden 8, David W Hylden 6, August Nelson 
25. 



Adolph married Anna Jensine Runnerstrand on July 11, 1917.   (Anna was born 
1890, died 1952). 



The couple had 5 children, 3 girls and 2 boys: Clifford Arnold Hylden(1918 - 
2009) and Raymond L Hylden (1925 - 1988). 



Found in the 1910 census at Norton, Walsh, North Dakota, renting a room: Adolph 
Hylder 23.



Found in the 1915 census at Acton, Walsh, North Dakota: Adolph Hylden age 28.



Found in the 1920 census at Medford, Walsh, North Dakota: A E Holden 32, Anna J 
Holden  29, Clifford Arnold Holden 1 yr 9 mos, Runnesteard Runnesteard 71, 
Louise J Holden  37, Runnestrand Nels Holden 33, Bernice J Holden  3 yrs 6 mos, 
Maurice N Holden 1 yr 6 mos.





Found in the 1925, 1930 censuses at Fordville, Walsh, North Dakota: 

1925: Adolph E Hylden age 38.

1930: Adolph E Hylden 41, Anna J Hylden 39, Arnold C Hylden 11, Arlene B Hylden 
10, Muriel A Hylden 7, Raymond L Hylden 4, Mildred E Hylden 2 mos, Amy 
Hendrickson 24, Melvin Anderson 13.



Adolph may have married a 2nd time after Anna's death to a Minnie M Lange 
Coulter on January 16, 1955 at Los Angeles, California; no children.  



Adolph  died October 20, 1967 at St Louis, Minnesota and was buried at the Oak 
Grove Cemetery, Fordville, Walsh, North Dakota.
