Their baby boy was named Christ Hanson and he was raised by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Anders Olsen Wong (also known as Anders Olsen Finhold Skaarevarkit). Christ Hanson later emigrated to America and eventually lived out his life in North Dakota. Hans next married Gina Jacobsdatter at Akershus, Norway. They were members of the Deer Creek Lutheran Church north of Carpenter, Iowa. After moving to North Dakota, they helped organize and belonged to Our Savior's Lutheran. They were buried in the cemetery of that church which sat across the road from the farm that they homesteaded. Hans also helped build the Zion Lutheran Church in Palermo, North Dakota. Our Savior's Lutheran in North Dakota is still standing and is taken care of by descendants of Hans although it doesn't hold church services. He had been working in a coal mine near Kenmare, ND and fell off his wagon and was run over by it. The Minot, North Dakota newspaper featured a front page headline and article that told of the accident and declared it an accident, not foul play. Alcohol may have been a factor. The funeral and burial was at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Spencer, Ward, North Dakota.
