Found in the 1920 census at Crowfoot, Mountrail, North Dakota: Chris Hanson 45, Johanna Hanson 43, Arthur Hanson 10, Myrtle Hanson 8, Orren K Hanson 5. Found in the 1930 census at Spencer, Ward, North Dakota: Chris Hanson 56, Johanna Hanson 53, Arthur Hanson 20, Myrtle Hanson 18, Oren K Hanson 15. Found in the 1940 census at Baden, Ward, North Dakota: Chris Hanson 66, Johanna Hanson 63, Arthur Hanson 30, Oren K Hanson 25. Oren married Phyllis Gernell French October 31, 1941 at Scobey, Daniels, Montana. The couple had 4 children; 3 boys and one girl. Oren died April 3, 2004 at Stanley, Mountrail, North Dakota and is buried at the Coulee Cemetery, Ward, North Dakota. Find a Grave #8612109 Obituary: Oren K. Hanson, 89, Kenmare, formerly of Palermo, died Saturday, April 3, 2004, in the Stanley hospital. Oren was born September 5, 1914, to Chris and Johanna (Mahlum) Hanson, in Baden, ND. He grew up on the family farm and attended rural school south of Kenmare. Oren married Phyllis French on October 31, 1940. They farmed and ranched north of Palermo, in Crowfoot Township, Mountrail County, ND.Oren was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, rural Coulee, ND. He was a supervisor for Crowfoot Township for over 40 years, and served on the FHA loan advisory board. Oren loved his family, friends, ranching and auction sales. Survivors: Wife, Phyllis, Kenmare; sons, Adrian (Linda) Hanson, Kenmare, Gary (Faye) Hanson, Mandan; daughter, DeVonne Hanson, Kenmare; six grandchildren, Tammy (Steve) Feil, Fortuna, Byron Hanson, Palermo, Chris Hanson, Beulah, Trent Hanson, Denver, CO, Travis Hanson, Madison, WI and Tabatha Hanson and her fiancé, Mathew Barrett, Woodbury, MN; four great-grandsons, Joshua, Ethan and Jaden Feil and Devin Hanson; many nieces and nephews also survive. Oren was preceded in death by his daughter, Vernell Mae Hanson; his parents, Chris and Johanna Hanson; sister, Myrtle Larson; brother, Arthur Hanson, and one infant brother, Joseph Hanson. Funeral: Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, rural Coulee. Burial: Coulee Cemetery, Coulee, ND. Officiant: Rev.
