Anna Iversdatter Dahle was born Aug 23, 1857 at Dahle, Voss Prestigjeld, 
Sondre Bergenhus Amt, Hordaland, Norway to Iver Nielsen Dahle (born December 
6, 1824 Norway, died August 28, 1888 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa) and Elisabet 
Olsdatter Seim (born November 7, 1821 Norway, died July 27, 1901 Cedar, 
Mitchell, Iowa). 

Anna was the fourth of their five children. Her siblings were: 
(1.) Nels Iverson Dahle (born 1847 Norway); 
(2.) William Iverson Dahle (born 1852 Norway); 
(3.) Brita Ivarsdatter (born abt 1855 Norway) and 
(4.) Ole Iverson Dahley (born June 12, 1860 Norway, died January 29, 1950 Nora 
Springs, Floyd, Iowa).

Anne emigrated in 1869 with her parents and siblings to Iowa. 

Anna married Knut Engebritsen Knutson on November 1, 1877 at St Ansgar, 
Mitchell, IA. 
The couple had 3 daughters: 
(1.) Clara Amelia (born June 22, 1878 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa, married Albert 
Oscar Nelson May 25, 1898 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa, died September 10, 1958 
Decorah, Winneshiek, Iowa); 

(2.) Anne Elizabeth (born December 28, 1879 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa, married Ole 
E Hylden December 25, 1904 Osage, Mitchell, Iowa, died June 11, 1918 Wheelock, 
Williams, North Dakota) and 

(3.) Ida (born May 21, 1882 Worth, Iowa, married Karl Robert Lofgren 1911, 
died May 1973 Wheelock, Williams, North Dakota).

Anna died December 23, 1939 at Wheelock, Williams, North Dakota and was buried 
at the Wheelock Cemetery, Wheelock, Williams, North Dakota.

Obituary from "Find a Grave": "Mrs. Anna Knutson Former Resident of This 
County Dead" 
Mrs. Anna Knutson passed away Saturday morning (December 23, 1939) at the home 
of her son-in-law and daughter (Ida), Mr. and Mrs. Karl Robert Lofgren, at 
Wheelock, N.D., and was buried Wednesday afternoon, December 27, in the 
Wheelock cemetery, according to an account of her life and death sent us from 
Wheelock. 

The service was conducted by the Rev. Carl Nelson, who sang a Norwegian 
song, "Jeg ved en vie" before the sermon, Orin Lee sang "Jesus Savior Pilot 
Me" after the sermon. These were favorite songs of the deceased. Pallbearers 
were Lars Larson, Adolph Olson, Rasmus Siverson, Jake Bodenfield, Henry 
Erickson and John Solberg. 

Mrs. Knutson was born August 23, 1857 at Hardanger, Norway and with her 
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Iver Dahle, came to America in 1866. They settled first 
near Decorah, Iowa later moving to Rock Creek, (Mitchell county, Iowa), where 
she grew up and was married in 1877 to Knut E. Knutson. 
Three daughters were born to them. They are: Mrs. Clara Nelson, of Osage; Mrs. 
Ida Lofgren, of Wheelock, and Mrs. Elizabeth Hylden, who passed away at her 
home near Wheelock in 1918. 

Mr. Knudson died November 26, 1911. Mrs. Knudson came to live with her 
daughters, Mrs. Hylden and Mrs. Lofgren, and except for several visits with 
her daughter, Mrs. Albert Nelson, in Osage, made her home in Wheelock. 

Surviving are three grandchildren: Ervin Nelson, of Waterloo; Mrs. Virgil 
McGhan, Lime Springs and Eileen Lofgren, of Wheelock; also six great 
grandchildren, Avery, Doris, Dorothy and Alton Nelson and Virgil Jr. and 
Donald McGhan.

Knudtsen 22, Emilie C. Knudtsen 1, Anna Elizebeth Knudtsen 5m.  

Found in the 1885, 1895, 1900 censuses living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa: 
1885: J N Daley 62, Elizabeth Daley 64, Oley Daley 24, Anna Knudson 26, Amelia 
Knudson 6, Lizzie Knudson 5, Ida Knudson 2. 
1895: Anna Knutson age 37. 
1900: Anne Knudson 42, Lizzie A Knudson 19, Elisabeth Dahley 78. 

Found in the 1925 census living at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa, Widowed: Albert O 
Nelson 51, Clara Nelson 47, Anna Kuntson 64.

Found in the 1920, 1925, 1930 censuses at Wheelock, Williams, North Dakota: 
1920: Robert Lofgren 44, Ida Lofgren 37, Anna Knutson 68. 1930: Robert Lofgren 
54, Ida Lofgren 47, Eileen Lofgren 5, Anna Knutson 71.

Additional Comments:
In 1925, Anna was counted twice in the censuses. First, at her daughter's home 
in Osage, Iowa and also at her other daughter's home in North Dakota.
