Bonds have been voted in aid of this road at Broken Bow, and Harrisburg is on an air line from the Bow to Ogden, which is the road's coarse. Harrisburg has a natural rock bed and everything looks favorable for getting the road. The back one of winter is completely broken here, and hundreds of farmers are plowing in the fields. Wheat sowing will commence in a week or two. The prospects for a good crop in this part of the country were never better. An immense amount of snow fell this winder and has thoroughly soaked the ground. Everyone looks forward to a splendid year. There is but little free government land left here, but numbers of claims can be purchased in the county at reasonable prices. Any information can concerning Banner county will be gladly furnished by the board of trade here. A great many people here join with your Logan county correspondent in denouncing the new land district scheme. If the new districts are created as now proposed, hundreds of people will have increased difficulty in getting to the land office, while only dozens will be benefitted, and those not to any great extent. At any rate it would be decidedly unjust to include any portion of Banner county in the alliance district. We speak only for ourselves. Harrisburg is one of the growing towns of western Nebraska. Building operations have continued right through the winter and there will be a large and healthy growth during the summer.
