Permelia Anderson 

Permelia Anderson was born at Balingslof, Sweden, August 6, 1848, the daughter
of Peter and Permelia (Matson) Johnson, and for the past 57 years has been a
resident of Nebraska. Her father, who was born in Sweden, December 25, 1823, and
died at Stromsburg, Nebraska, July 1, 1898, was a farmer. Her mother was born in
Sweden, February 15, 1821, and died at Stromsburg, August 22, 1889.

Mrs. Anderson received her education in the public schools of Lafayette,
Illinois. She is a member of the Nebraskana Society, the Red Cross, and St.
Edward’s Methodist Episcopal Church. Her chief recreations are reading and
needlework. Politically, she is a Republican.

She was married to John M. Anderson at Columbus, Nebraska, December 31, 1875.
Mr. Anderson, who was a farmer, was born in Sweden and died in Platte County,
Nebraska, January 1, 1909; he served in the Union Army during the Civil War for
nearly five years and was honorably discharged as lieutenant at the close of the
war. Mrs. Anderson donated liberally to war activities during the World War.

To their marriage the following children were born: George, October 11, 1876,
who married Maude Simpson; Gertie, May 26, 1878; Mamie, March 18, 1880; Josie
E., January 15, 1882, who died September 5, 1882; and Dana, June 17, 1883, who
married Madeline Gorius. George is a farmer, Gertie is librarian, and Dana a
salesman. Residence: St. Edward.
