The remains of thirty one bodies which reposed
in the old cemetery at Kearney were removed a
few days ago to the new burying grounds in the
northeast part of the city. The old cemetery
was used in early days by settlers from all
the surrounding country south of the Loup and
contained the bodies of several pioneers who
were murdered by the Indians. Only five of
the graves could be identified.
