Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25 at First Baptist Church in Kearney with the Rev. Stan Murdoch officiating. Private family burial will be held prior to the service at the Elm Creek cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday at the O’Brien - Straatmann Funeral Home in Kearney. Survivors include her husband, Matthew; son, Blake; daughter, Baylee, all of Elm Creek; step-daughter, Chelsea Gancze of Cheyenne, Wyo.; parents, Thomas and Valerie Hogeland of Hildreth; sisters, Carol (Ben) Kohl of York and Amy (Terry) Kreft and their children, Trustin and Alyssa of Claflin, Kan.; grandmothers, Irene Hogeland and Norma Bunger, both of Minden; mother-in-law, Sheila Egenberger of Johnson Lake; brother-in-law, Mike (Janet) Egenberger and their children, Abbey and Riley of Omaha. She was preceded in death by infant brother, Michael, grandfathers, Arnold Hogeland and Alvin Bunger, father-in-law, Bill Egenberger. She was born Feb. 18, 1970 in Minden to Thomas and Valerie (Bunger) Hogeland. She grew up in Hildreth, graduating from Hildreth High School in 1988 and then attended Kearney State College. She was married to Matthew Egenberger in Estes Park, Colo., on Feb. 14, 1996. They made their home in Elm Creek. She worked the past 10 years as a telemetry tech and secretary for Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Kearney. She fought a courageous battle with breast cancer.
