Daniel G. Francis, 54, of Elm Creek, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 at Good 
Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. 
 
Funeral services were Tuesday at O’Brien Straatmann Chapel in Elm Creek with 
the Rev. Glenn Johnson officiating. 
 
Interment was in the Elm Creek Cemetery.  

Visitation was Monday at O’Brien Straatmann Funeral Chapel in Elm Creek and 
continued until one hour before the service.  

He was born Oct. 7, 1956 in Buffalo, N.Y. to Herbert and Eileen (Plank) 
Francis.  He grew up in Los Angeles, Springville, N.Y. and Hershey and 
graduated in 1975 in Hershey.  

On April 30, 1983, he married Lynda Johansen in North Platte.  They lived in 
Gibbon, where he was employed by Gibbon Packing and attended college.  He also 
lived in Dallas, Texas, Tilden and Lexington.  He was employed by IBP, Budget 
Rental Center and Kearney Public Schools for 12 years. 

Survivors include his wife, Lynda of Elm Creek; son, Evan (Lynette) Francis of 
Virginia Beach, Va.; daughters, Amanda Francis of Kearney and Brittany Francis 
of Elm Creek; father, Herbert Francis of Harrison Valley, Pa.; brothers, 
Phillip (Alice) Francis of Meridian, Miss., Mike Francis of Grand Prairie, 
Texas, Tim (Barb) Francis of Ulysses, Texas and Richard (Lisa) Francis of 
Grand Prairie, Texas and many aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his mother and grandmother.
