Vernon Lunsford on the forty-second anniversary of the marriage of her parents. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. E. Hess in the presence of twenty-five guests, and the bride was given by her father. Promptly at half past two the wedding march was played by Mrs. Edwin Titchner, who also played the accompaniment while Mrs. W. W. Roush of Grand Island sang "Because." Little Mary Elden Johnston of Grand Island, neice (sic) of the bride, was ring bearer. The bride wore a beautiful gown of gold colored satin with overdrape of green chiffon and trimmings of tiny rosebuds. She carried a large bouquet of bride's roses and was unattended. After the ceremony a dinner was served on small tables, which were prettily decorated in green and gold. Mr. and Mrs. Lunsford will spent (sic) their honeymoon on the west coast after which they will be "at home" at 615 East Second street, where the groom recently purchased and furnished a cozy home. The bride is a popular young lady of this city who, by her pleasant nature, has made friends of all who know her. She has been a capable saleslady in the Dixon jewelry store for several years. Mr. Lunsford is employed as boilermaker for the Union Pacific company and during the world's war crossed the Atlantic twirty(sic)-two times on the battleship Leviathian (sic). He is a promising young man, who is highly respected in this city (North Platte.) J. Vernon Lunsford is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Lunsford of Elmcreek, and is well known by many here who will extend their best wishes to the happy couple.
