Anders married Anne Henriksdatter (b October 8, 1815 Strand, Norway, d March 29, 1869 Floyd Co, Iowa) on April 25, 1838 at Strand, Norway. The couple had 7 children who were all born at Aasen, Strand, Rogaland, Norway: Martha (b September 27, 1838, married Ansten Sorensen, d March 26, 1915 Minnesota); Henrick (b 1840, d 1908 Burt, Nebraska); Berta (b November 16, 1845, d November 4, 1885 Burt, Nebraska); Malene (b August 30, 1848, d November 26, 1870); Kristoffer A Jensen (b May 17, 1850, d March 19, 1940 Burt, Nebraska); Bergitte (b May 17, 1852, married George Peterson,d April 22, 1931 San Diego, California), Jensine (b April 27, 1855, d December 28, 1919 Cedarville, California). Believe the parents and all the children except Marta emigrated about 1865 to America and traveled to rural Floyd County, Iowa where Anders brother, Jens (Gens Genson) Jensen was already established on a farm on the Mitchell/Floyd county line. The family stayed in the area for a few years, at least until 1869 as Anne died at rural Floyd, Iowa on March 29, 1869 and was buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. The family moved west to homestead on farmland at Burt County, Nebraska. Daughter Martha had married Ansteen Sorensen and believe Anders lived with them until his death February 22, 1876. Anders Jensen was buried at Tekamah, Burt, Nebraska at a family farm cemetery but his remains were moved to the Tekamah Cemetery (lot 35) on April 13, 1882. Additional Comments: Was not able to locate Anders in the 1870 census or find the cemetery where he was buried at.
