Services were Dec. 19, at St. Rose of Lima, Crofton, with Rev. Bob English officiating. Burial was held at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Crofton. Pallbearers were Jerome Zvadil, Roger Schieffer, Kieth Kool, Jerry Kollars, John Gartner, and Marlon Smith. Richard was born April 28, 1940, to Bernard and Arlene (Farran) Allen in Page. He grew up in O'Neill and graduated from O'Neill St. Mary's High School. He married Diane C. Sindelar on May 31, 1969 in O'Neill. He graduated from Wayne State College in 1964. He received his Masters in Chemistry, Administration and Specialists in Education. He has spent 33 years with the Crofton Schools, 21 years, as a physics and chemistry teacher and 14 years as secondary principal. Richard retired in May of 1998 from Crofton High School. Richard was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Diane, Crofton; three children, Tim and Lisa Allen, Florence, Colo; Tom and Wanda Allen Papillion; and Tami and Tim Guenther, Fremont; six grandchildren and one sister, Pat McElhose, Stromsburg.
