Anderson COLERIDGE- Howard A. Anderson, 76, died Nov. 27, 1999, at his daughter's residence in Tryon. Visitation was Nov. 29 at the Wintz Funeral Home, Coleridge. Funeral services were Nov. 30 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Coleridge, with Rev. Norman Sulaica officiating. Burial was in the Coleridge City Cemetery with Military Services conducted by Coleridge American Legion Post #114. Pallbearers were George V. Hefner, Don Hahne, Duane Heithold, Gordon Volquardsen, Sylvan Olson and Claude Hofeldt. Honorary pallbearers were Deon and Christy Anderson, Sonya Anderson, Misti Anderson, Paula Barker, Cory and Rhonda Barker, and Sharla and Dan King. Howard was born Aug. 21, 1923, to Charles and Edna (Cooper) Anderson in Dixon County. He married Marlene Vock Jan. 15, 1945, in Coleridge. He grew up northeast of Hartington. He served in the army from Jan. 1945 to Oct. 1946, and then farmed in the Coleridge area until the present time. He was a member of the Hartington VFW Post #5283. Survivors include his wife, Marlene, Coleridge; two children and spouses, Gary and Mila Anderson, Coleridge; Kay and Dave Barker, Tryon; six grandchildren; four great-grandsons; and three brothers, Wayne Anderson, Crofton; Clarence Anderson, Plainview; and Ray Anderson, Syracuse.
