Becker, 86, who died at his home February 28 [1954]. He had been seriously ill about four months. Rev. C.J. Kaup officiated at the requiem mass and burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Wintz Mortuary of Hartington. Pallbearers were Tom Meyer, Harold Dendinger, Bill Becker, Julius Becker, Roland Eickhoff and Howard Glasser. Mr. Becker is survived by his wife, Anna; five daughters, Mrs. William Dresden, Mrs. Martin Eickhoff and Mrs. William Raduechel, all of Hartington; Mrs. A. Jalbert of Astoria, Ore., and Mary of Fordyce; and three sons, Adolph of Seattle, Wash., Gerald of Niobrara, and Richard of Casablanca, Morocco. The son of Mathias and Barbara Becker, John was born in Theis, Germany, May 3, 1867. He came to the United States and Cedar county when he was a year old. He followed the occupation of farming.
